the more I’ve read the more these questions come to mind hope someone can answer them
1.- will we have to use the controller with the old games? (360 as well as original xbox games)
2.-I’m night gamer witch means I Almost always ply in the darkness( I like it that way) will I’ll be able to play in a dark room were the only light is the screen?
3.- I’m not exactly crazy about the idea of my kid video chatting with strangers will there be a way to block every body until I approve them?
Hi john. i’d like to answer your questions.
1. Yes. The Kinect system only works with the Kinect games listed. Other games will still use the Xbox controllers.(Though Kinect DOES NOT work on original Xbox, your other compatible games with Xbox will still work with your 360)
2.Since we don’t know alot about this product, I am going to say you need a little more light. Kinect has a camera on the front which will monitor body movement. Without being able to see it, It’s like taking a picture in the dark.
3.I have read that parental controls are supposed to be very good on Kinect. They have said that it uses facial recognition to tell parents what thier kids are playing(not sure if this works with Kinect games or all 360 games). On Xbox 360, parents can control much of what their child plays, and who they chat with. So Kinect should be the same with that.’
I hope I answered your, and anyone’s questions.
Thanks, and have a good day.
Hey John… anonymous’ answers were pretty good, but as far as low light situations, there’s been mixed answers.
Part of the Kinect camera is an infrared camera, which doesn’t need light like a VGA camera does. The infrared will be able to detect your motions, even in lower light situations. As far as video chatting in the dark though, the person you are chatting with may or may not be able to see you.
I’m in a wheelchair and I was wondering which games you might recommend that wouldn’t require the use of my feet. I’ve seen some games that look like I should be able play. Us folk in wheelchairs are a small market but we’d like some games we can play.
Thanks, Bob
*Note: My name above is trying to imply that 360 and PS3 should combine into the awesomeness of the PS360, anyway…
@Bob you should tell Microsoft that, actually, I think that they may be willing to listen to your idea. Especially if you could come up with some game ideas that pretty much everyone would want… Like, for example, a wheel chair sports game… I’d be interested in that, it would work out my arms, I can tell you that!
Hey Bob, as far as i can tell, Child of Eden should be perfectly playable for people in a wheelchair, and the game looks quite intersting – it’s the spiritual successor of Rez, for a short demo se here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKivlywog-o
question, do you no how long it will be before any more interesting games will come out, for example, first person shooters, or a manhunt type game, for people who are a little older?
Why are ya’ll wasting time with kinect for fitness games all I see in that is another Wii console why not intergate it for better games like halo and first person shooters even some RPG’s would be nice to see all I see is kiddie games right now and you want me to spend money on this ??? Guys you can do far better and start thinking most your Mature games need somthing for our ages and not just all ages.
hello. just wondering if you can still play games using the controller? because some people get off work and just want to relax, and i know that fable 3 is going to be using this and beings how im a fable fan, can i play without kinect if i desire?
