Kinect Fighting Games
Posted in Games on Feb 02., 2010
While Kinect definitely adds a whole new dimension and it will even have it’s own type and genre of games, it will definitely fit well with some other genres. The very beginning of the early, original Kinect announcement video showed the possibility for Kinect fighting games. I am stoked about this possibility, because they will be able to take it in so many directions.
The announcement trailer showed an Asian martial arts master, and a kid walking up and they begin fighting. A great idea for a game would be one that teaches you a martial art. Whether it’s karate, taekwondo, or whatever, being able to get real-time feedback from your Kinect sensei would be awesome. You could promote up through the ranks once you have developed proficiency at the different belt color levels.
Boxing and MMA would also be awesome games to incorporate Kinect into. I really hope that EA Sports, the makers of the Fight Night series, choose to make a Fight Night Kinect, because that would be awesome. To be able to duck, dodge, and throw jabs, uppercuts, and other punches and have that translate into the video game would be awesome. And, since EA Sports has already announced an EA Sports Active Kinect, we know they are as excited about the technology as we are!
So, while there are no fighting games for Kinect that have been announced yet, if you’d like to be notified about any Kinect games, including fighting games, then sign up for our newsletter below, and get all of the latest, up-to-date news about Kinect!

if any fighting game should be made it should be about bruce lee.
yes a bruce lee game would be awesome but dont forget ufc,
street fighter and mortal kombat and maybe how about a samurai showdown game. oh yeah did i mention some raw or smackdown some one get the table!!
YES!!! fighting games should defenetly be made for kinect. Not only would it be a pretty good work out, but it wouldn’t be fair for good games like that to be left out or forgotten. If they are left out might as well call it a WII 360.
